Kellie Pickler’s Mom Wants to Reunite after 12 Years

American Idol contestant, Kellie Pickler, is reuniting with her mom after 12 years of being apart. According to Kellie, her mom deserted her 12 years ago and hasn’t heard from her since.
Kellie’s mom, Cynthia Morton (who goes by her maiden name), wants her daughter to know that she loves her, and wants to explain why she left her without even saying anything.
Kellie, who was raised by her paternal grandparents was never really told why her mom left her but Cynthia wants to make it known to her because she wants to be in her daughter’s life.
According to Cynthia, she left because her husband was abusive, as well as an alcoholic. In turn, she gave Kellie up to her grandparents, and left without ever contacting her.
Could her mother just be contacting her after all this time because of all the media attention Kellie is getting? Twelve years is a long time to wait to speak to your daughter, there is no legitimate reason why she would wait so long- she just wants her money!
